BATAVIA, NY – Organizers of the first GLOW With Your Hands career exploration event on September 24, 2019 today announced that businesses, organizations and individuals have provided overwhelming levels of financial support to conduct the event.
More than $45,000 has been raised to support GLOW With Your Hands, which will connect 1,000 students from the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming (GLOW) Region to careers that are in high-demand and the companies growing in their communities. Nearly 50 hands-on demonstrations will be staged during the Sept. 24 event.
“The generosity of GLOW With Your Hands donors is another sign of the importance our region puts delivering real opportunities to our kids, and real talent to our businesses,” said Chris Suozzi, vice president of the Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC).
Genesee Construction was designated a double platinum sponsor with a $10,000 sponsorship. Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel is the platinum sponsor at $5,000.
Gold sponsors at the $2,500 level include Graham Corporation, Nature’s Way Environmental Consultants & Contractors, and O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative.
Silver sponsors at $1,000 include the four organizing economic development agencies - the GCEDC, Livingston County Economic Development, Orleans County Economic Development Agency, and Wyoming County Business Center – and Bank of Castile/Tompkins Insurance Agencies, Dansville Mini Storage, Genesee Community College, International Union BAC Local 3 NY, John & Sarah’s, LandPro Equipment, National Grid, U.S. Gypsum, and Walmart.
Bronze sponsors at $500 include Amada Tool America, American Rentals, Barilla America, Cargill, Construction Exchange of Buffalo, Finishing Trades Institute of Western & Central New York, Senator Patrick Gallivan, Senator Chris Jacobs, Koike Aronson, Lapp Insulators, LG Evans Construction, Liberty Pumps, Lifetime Assistance, Morton Salt, New England Regional Council of Carpenters Local 276, Senator Rob Ortt, Mike Ranzenhofer for State Senate, Swan Equipment and Trucking, and the Workforce Development Institute.
